Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. to Lie in State at South Carolina Statehouse: Governor Orders Flags at Half-Staff in Tribute
The South Carolina Statehouse will host the body of the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. on Monday, March 2, 2026, following a request from the Jackson family and members of the South Carolina General Assembly. Governor Henry McMaster has ordered flags at the Statehouse to be lowered to half-staff in tribute to Jackson's legacy on that day. The South Carolina Department of Administration is working with the Jackson family to finalize the arrangements, with more information to be provided soon.
