President Trump Orders Release of UFO Files Amid Speculation and Controversy

President Donald Trump has announced that he is instructing government agencies to release files related to extraterrestrials and UFOs due to the high level of public interest. This decision came after Trump accused former President Barack Obama of disclosing classified information about aliens. Trump stated that he does not know if aliens are real but is considering declassifying information to potentially help Obama.

In a social media post, Trump directed government agencies to release files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs). Obama, who recently discussed the possibility of aliens in a podcast interview, clarified that he had not seen evidence of alien contact but acknowledged the vastness of the universe.

While Trump has previously avoided discussing extraterrestrial visitors, his daughter-in-law Lara Trump hinted that he had a speech prepared on the topic. However, the White House press secretary expressed surprise at this claim, indicating that a speech on aliens was not on the agenda. Public interest in UFOs and government secrecy surrounding extraterrestrial life has increased since the release of Navy videos of unknown objects in 2017.

Following the renewed interest in UFOs, Congress held hearings on the topic in May 2022. The Pentagon established the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in July 2022 to collect reports of military UFO encounters. Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick, the former head of AARO, stated that there was no evidence of any program for reverse engineering extraterrestrial technology.

An unclassified report submitted to Congress in June 2024 revealed that the majority of military UFO reports remain unsolved, with many cases attributed to mundane objects like balloons and birds. The report emphasized that there is no evidence of extraterrestrial beings, activity, or technology based on the information available. The Pentagon has pledged to provide more transparency on the topic of UFOs and extraterrestrial phenomena.
