K-pop Superstars BTS and BLACKPINK Collaborate with National Heritage Sites to Showcase Traditional Korean Culture

K-pop superstars BTS and BLACKPINK are collaborating with national heritage sites and institutions to showcase traditional Korean culture on a global scale. BLACKPINK is partnering with the National Museum of Korea in Seoul for their upcoming EP release, Deadline. The project will feature voice commentary by the group on the museum's artefacts and illuminate the museum's exterior in pink to celebrate the release. The EP marks BLACKPINK's first full-group project in over three years.
On the other hand, BTS has chosen Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul as the venue for a free concert to mark the release of their fifth full-length album, Arirang. The concert, set for March 21, will blend Korean traditional heritage with modern stage production. The event is expected to draw a large crowd, with the concert being live-streamed on Netflix to over 190 countries, showcasing Korea's cultural heritage alongside the group's performance.
Cultural critic Jung Duk-hyun believes that these initiatives by BTS and BLACKPINK could have a significant impact beyond music, as they introduce traditional culture in a natural and engaging way. The artists' efforts are seen as contributing to the promotion of K-culture on a global scale.
