Band Wednesday Parts Ways with Wasserman Agency Amid Jeffrey Epstein Files Release

The US Department of Justice recently released millions of government files related to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender who died in 2019. These files contain correspondence from 2003 between Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a prison sentence for her involvement with Epstein, and Casey Wasserman, the CEO of Wasserman Media Group. In response to this revelation, the band Wednesday announced on Instagram that they are parting ways with Wasserman agency, expressing their support for survivors of sexual abuse and human trafficking.

Wednesday clarified that they have never interacted with Casey Wasserman and expressed concern over his handling of the situation. Despite acknowledging the decency of the agency's staff, the band emphasized the need to distance themselves from Wasserman due to their values conflicting with his leadership. They called for Wasserman to step down from the company or for them to find representation elsewhere before continuing their association with Wasserman.

Wasserman Media Group represents numerous artists in its music division, and Wednesday's decision to sever ties with the agency follows similar actions by other artists. Best Coast singer Bethany Cosentino also called for Wasserman to step down and change the company's name, highlighting the need for accountability and support for artists. Additionally, Los Angeles officials have urged Wasserman to resign from his position as the chair of the LA28 Olympics committee to avoid distracting from the event's preparations.

Despite these calls for his resignation, Casey Wasserman has not responded publicly. The growing pressure from artists and officials underscores the importance of accountability and ethical leadership in the entertainment industry.
