Reba McEntire's Heartfelt Update on Kelly Clarkson and Family After Brandon Blackstock's Passing

Reba McEntire recently provided an update on Kelly Clarkson and her two children, River Rose and Remington “Remy” Alexander, following the passing of their father, Brandon Blackstock. McEntire, who was Blackstock’s stepmother for many years, paid tribute to him during the In Memoriam segment at the 2026 Grammy Awards. She expressed her deep sense of loss for those who have passed away and shared that they hope to reunite with them someday.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, McEntire mentioned that everyone is coping as best as they can, especially Clarkson and her children. She described Brandon as a vibrant and loving person, and they all reminisce about him through a group chat. McEntire also performed her song “Trailblazer” during the emotional tribute at the Grammy Awards.

Clarkson previously shared that her children have been sleeping with her a lot since their father’s passing. She mentioned that these moments have been special and have led to cute conversations with her kids. Blackstock passed away from melanoma in August 2025 after battling the illness privately for three years. Clarkson took time off to be there for her children before returning to her talk show in September 2025.

The support and love shown by McEntire and Clarkson for each other and their families during this difficult time highlight the importance of cherishing memories and staying connected with loved ones. The bond they share serves as a reminder of the strength found in unity and support during times of grief and loss.
