Grande and Erivo Win Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at 2026 Grammy Awards

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have secured the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award at the 2026 Grammy Awards for their rendition of “Defying Gravity” from Wicked. The duo triumphed over other nominees such as Katseye’s “Gabriella,” Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “Apt.,” SZA and Kendrick Lamar’s “30 for 30,” and KPop Demon Hunters’ fictional girl group Huntr/x’s “Golden.” Grande and Erivo were not present to receive the award.

Grande previously won this award in 2021 for her collaboration with Lady Gaga on “Rain On Me” from Chromatica. Additionally, Grande received a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 2025 Academy Awards for her role as Glinda in Wicked. However, the film’s sequel, Wicked: For Good, did not receive any Oscar nominations this year. This marks Erivo’s second Grammy win, following her 2017 victory for Best Musical Theater Album as part of The Color Purple cast.

In the previous year’s Grammys, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga took home the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award for their duet “Die With a Smile.” To view the complete list of winners and stay updated on Pitchfork’s coverage of the 2026 Grammys, visit their website.
