Gesaffelstein's Grammy Triumph: A Look at His Award-Winning Remix and Album Nominations

French producer Gesaffelstein achieved his first Grammy win at the 2026 awards ceremony for the best remixed recording category with his remix of Lady Gaga's hit song "Abracadabra." He is also a nominee for album of the year for his work on Lady Gaga's album "Mayhem." Previously, he was nominated for album of the year in 2022 for his contributions to Kanye West's "Donda."
Gesaffelstein's remix of "Abracadabra" triumphed over other nominees such as Mariah Carey's "Don't Forget about Us" (remixed by Kaytranada), Soul II Soul's "A Dreams a Dream" (Ron Trent Remix), The Chemical Brothers' "Galvanize" (Chris Lake, Remixer), and Huntr/x's "Golden" (David Guetta Remix). During the award acceptance, Gesaffelstein appeared on stage, wearing his signature black gloves and reflective mask, and chose to bow and blow a kiss to the audience instead of giving a speech.
Known for his presence in the electronic underground scene, Gesaffelstein made a notable appearance during Lady Gaga's Coachella set in April, where he performed with Gaga on their collaboration "Killah" from the "Mayhem" album. He was the sole special musical guest during Gaga's Coachella debut in 2025. Additionally, his remix of "Abracadabra" also secured the Grammy for best dance/pop recording, with the album "Mayhem" being a contender for album of the year, to be announced later during the televised ceremony on Sunday.
