UK's Top 100 Taxpayers of 2026: Who Paid the Most?

The UK's 100 biggest taxpayers for 2026 have been revealed, with the founders of Betfred, Fred and Peter Done, topping the list by paying an estimated £400.1m in tax. Financial trading entrepreneur Alex Gerko and hedge fund boss Chris Rokos followed closely behind, contributing £331.4m and £330m, respectively. New entries to the list included singer Harry Styles in 54th place, paying £24.7m in tax, and billionaire businessman Mike Ashley in ninth place with a tax payment of £175m.

Other notable figures on the list included author JK Rowling in 36th place with a tax bill of £47.5m, musician Ed Sheeran in 64th place with a payment of £19.9m, and boxer Anthony Joshua in 100th place, paying £11m. Footballers Erling Haaland and Mo Salah also made their debut on the list, with Haaland being the youngest person to appear at 25 years old and Salah ranking 81st with a tax bill of £14.5m.

The top 100 taxpayers collectively contributed £5.758bn in tax, reflecting an increase from the previous year. Changes in corporation tax rates and other tax policies by the government played a role in the higher tax payments. The list compiled by Robert Watts showcased a diverse range of individuals, including Premier League footballers, pop stars, business owners, and more, highlighting the significant tax contributions made by various sectors of society.
