ICE Philadelphia Operation: 600 Illegal Aliens Arrested in West Virginia with Local Law Enforcement Support
In a recent two-week operation led by ICE Philadelphia, over 600 illegal aliens were arrested in West Virginia with the help of local law enforcement officers. The operation took place in various cities across the state, including Charleston, Huntington, Martinsburg, Moorefield, Morgantown, and Beckley. ICE stated that the individuals arrested posed threats to national security, public safety, and had violated U.S. immigration laws.

Last August, Governor Patrick Morrisey signed a Memorandum of Agreement with ICE to participate in the 287(g) programs, which provide training for law enforcement personnel to assist in identifying and removing illegal aliens in the state. State Police Superintendent Col. Jim Mitchell reported that State Police troopers have assisted ICE with 250 arrests in West Virginia since September, emphasizing that all apprehensions were of individuals who had violated the law.
