SpaceX Collaboration with Ministry of Defense to Enhance Ukrainian Drone Connectivity
The Ministry of Defense is collaborating with SpaceX to address the issue of using Starlink satellite communication terminals on Russian drones. Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov revealed that after Russian UAVs equipped with Starlink connectivity were spotted over Ukrainian cities, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reached out to SpaceX for assistance. Fedorov expressed gratitude to SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and Elon Musk for their swift response in tackling the situation. Musk's decision to activate Starlink and dispatch the initial batch of terminals to Ukraine during the early stages of the Russian invasion was crucial for enhancing resilience. Fedorov stressed the importance of leveraging Western technology to support the democratic world, safeguard civilians, and prevent the misuse of technology for destructive purposes.
