Pedestrian Injured in Accident During Student-Led Demonstration at Fremont High School: Investigation Underway

A pedestrian was injured in an accident outside Fremont High School during a student-led demonstration. The incident occurred in front of the school around 2:30 p.m. School administrators were overseeing the demonstration to ensure student safety and peaceful protest. At one point, a few students entered the street, and one of them was hit by a car that stopped in front of the crowd before moving. The injured pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The incident is currently under investigation.

Video footage obtained by KETV shows the aftermath of the crash. Fremont Public Schools superintendent, Brad Dahl, expressed gratitude for the assistance of first responders and emphasized the importance of collaboration to maintain student and community safety. Nebraska Rep. Mike Flood also commented on the incident, condemning the event and calling for a thorough investigation by law enforcement. Flood highlighted the need to protect the right to protest safely.
