USS Abraham Lincoln Strike Group Enters Central Command Amid Rising Tensions with Iran

The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group has entered Central Command, the region that includes Iran, according to a U.S. official. This move follows a warning from Iran's Revolutionary Guard commander about having their "finger on the trigger" as U.S. warships approached. The strike group consists of the USS Abraham Lincoln, an aircraft carrier, and three guided missile destroyers: the USS Frank E. Petersen, Jr., the USS Spruance, and the USS Michael Murphy. It carries various aircraft and helicopters on board.

As of Monday morning Eastern Time, the naval force was not yet in its intended position. President Trump mentioned that a "massive fleet" was en route to Iran as a precautionary measure, but he expressed hope that it might not be necessary to use it. He has also cautioned Iranian leaders against violence towards peaceful demonstrators and the mass execution of protesters arrested during recent demonstrations challenging the ruling regime.

Gen. Mohammad Pakpour, as reported by Nournews, a news outlet close to Iran's Supreme National Security Council, warned the U.S. and Israel to avoid any miscalculations. He emphasized that the Islamic Revolutionary Guards and Iran are prepared to act swiftly on the orders of the Commander-in-Chief. The situation remains tense as both sides maintain their positions in the region.
