Ryan Bang has been recognized as one of the Top 10 public figures who positively influence South Korea's global image, alongside popular K-pop groups BTS and Blackpink. The 2025 Republic of Korea Country Image Survey, conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, revealed that Bang secured the 9th spot on the list. The survey highlighted individuals who significantly contribute to how South Korea is perceived internationally in areas such as culture, entertainment, sports, and leadership.
BTS claimed the top spot on the list, with Son Heung-min and BLACKPINK following in second and third place, respectively. Actor Lee Min-ho ranked fourth, while idol groups collectively secured the fifth spot. Jungkook from BTS ranked sixth, with political figure Lee Jae-myung in seventh place, and presidents and national leaders in eighth place. Bang tied with Lee Jae-myung and Blackpink's Lisa, each receiving 1.9% of the survey responses.
During an episode of "It's Showtime" on Wednesday, Jan. 21, Bang expressed his gratitude to his supporters, team, and management for helping him achieve this recognition. He thanked the Republic of Korea, Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism for appreciating his work in the Philippines. Bang also acknowledged the Korean embassy in the Philippines and Ambassador Lee Sang-hwa for consistently choosing him as the host for various Korean National Day and government events for over a decade.
Bang recently made headlines amid reports of his engagement with Paola Huyong coming to an end. However, neither party has confirmed nor denied these rumors at the time of this writing. The recognition of Bang as a public figure positively influencing South Korea's global image reflects his significant impact in the realms of culture, entertainment, and international perception.
