Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has taken action against a state House member, Rep. Sharon Henderson, who has been accused of dishonesty in obtaining federal unemployment benefits during the pandemic. Following a report from a review commission, Kemp determined that Henderson's alleged actions have compromised her effectiveness in carrying out her responsibilities. As a result, the Democratic representative from Covington has been suspended from her position by the Republican governor until the resolution of her case or the conclusion of her term in January 2027.
