Tragic Birthday Shooting: 11-Year-Old Charged as Adult for Killing Father in Pennsylvania

An 11-year-old child in Pennsylvania has been charged as an adult for allegedly shooting and killing his father after being told to go to sleep instead of playing his Nintendo Switch. The incident occurred on the child's birthday in Duncannon, Pennsylvania. The child, Clayton Dietz, confessed to shooting his father, Douglas Dietz, who was found unresponsive in his bed with a gunshot wound to his head. A revolver was discovered in a closet connecting the child's room to his parents' room. Troopers noted that Clayton had injuries on his face, and his mother, Jillian Dietz, suspected that her son was responsible for her husband's death. The tragic event unfolded after a seemingly normal day turned into a fatal confrontation between father and son. Clayton was charged with criminal homicide and is currently held at the Perry County Prison.
