New York City Shines in James Beard Awards Semifinalists Announcement
The James Beard Foundation has revealed the semifinalists for its 36th annual food awards, with a strong representation from New York City restaurants and chefs. Among the notable names are Sunny Lee from Sunn’s, Rasheeda Purdie from Ramen by Ra, the Four Horsemen, Via Carota, Bong, Kabawa, and Lei. The Best Chef: New York State category features chefs like Sadie Mae Burns, Anthony Ha, Joshua Pinsky, Vikas Khanna, and Rafiq Salim. The Outstanding Chef category includes Gabriel Kruether, Kwame Onwuachi, and Missy Robbins.
