BTS Announces Comeback with Fifth Album 'Arirang' and Exclusive Preorder Details

BTS, the popular K-pop group, is making a comeback after a long break with the announcement of their upcoming fifth album titled Arirang. The album is named after a famous Korean folk song and is set to be released on March 20. Fans can expect exclusive preorder editions of the album through a partnership with US retailer Target, offering vinyl and CD versions with collectible photocards. Limited details have been shared about the album, with pre-orders starting on January 16 at 11am KST.

Earlier hints about the comeback were given by BigHit Music, the group's management company, with a cryptic note on X confirming the March 20 release. BTS had previously teased a world tour and the release of a new album in the spring of 2026, with work on the project starting in July 2025. The group recently announced a 2026-2027 world tour with over 70 dates across Asia, North America, South America, Australia, and Europe, including four shows in Singapore in December 2026.

Despite their busy schedule, all seven members of BTS are required to complete South Korea's mandatory military service, which applies to all able-bodied men aged 18-28. The law provides exemptions for certain individuals like athletes and classical musicians but does not extend to K-pop stars and entertainers. This upcoming album and tour mark a significant return for BTS after their previous Permission to Dance on Stage tour. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Arirang and the group's future performances.
