Stars of 'Wicked' Visit Art Institute of Chicago in Preparation for 'Sunday in the Park with George' Revival
Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey, the stars of the musical "Wicked," recently visited the Art Institute of Chicago. During their visit, they admired George Seurat's painting "A Sunday on La Grande Jatte," which served as inspiration for the Stephen Sondheim musical "Sunday in the Park with George." The duo's visit to the renowned art museum was in preparation for their roles in the upcoming revival of the musical in London next summer. The production is scheduled to premiere at London's Barbican Centre in the summer of 2027 and will be directed by Marianne Elliott.
For those interested in viewing the iconic painting, the Art Institute is offering free admission to Chicago residents on winter weekdays, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays until February 27. Visitors are required to bring proof of residence to take advantage of this opportunity.
