Spain's Music Industry Thrives in 2025: Bad Bunny and Rosalía Lead Sales Charts

Spain's PROMUSICAE, the representative body for the Spanish recorded music industry, recently released its 2025 year-end report. The report highlights Bad Bunny as the top-selling artist in Spain for the third time in four years, with his album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" leading the annual album sales chart and earning a sextuple platinum certification. Rosalía also made waves in 2025, claiming the No. 1 spot in vinyl sales with her album "Lux," showcasing her classical-leaning, experimental pop style.
In addition to album sales, the report also recognized the Colombian acts W Sound, Beéle, and Ovy on the Drums for their hit song "La Plena (W Sound 05)," which became the most-streamed and best-selling song of the year in Spain. The song achieved sextuple platinum status, underscoring the enduring popularity of urbano music in the country. On the radio charts, "APT." by Rosé of BLACKPINK and Bruno Mars emerged as the most-played song across Spanish stations in 2025.
The report highlighted a 5.2% increase in streaming activity, with Spain recording 103.6 billion digital audio streams, representing 91% of overall music consumption in the country. Vinyl sales experienced a notable surge, growing by 22% year-over-year, while CD sales showed a modest recovery of 2%. PROMUSICAE president Antonio Guisasola emphasized the positive trend in music consumption, attributing it to the efforts of artists and producers to deliver quality music to the Spanish audience.
The 2025 year-end report from PROMUSICAE underscores the vibrant music industry in Spain, with artists like Bad Bunny and Rosalía leading the way in album and vinyl sales. The continued growth in streaming activity and the resurgence of physical formats like vinyl demonstrate the enduring appeal of music in the country.
