Aviva Stadium Dublin: A Profitable Venue for Major Events and Sports Matches

The Aviva Stadium in Dublin, operated by New Stadium DAC, reported operating profits of €3.73 million last year. The stadium hosted concerts by Dua Lipa and Lana Del Rey, attracting large crowds and generating significant revenue. The company also earned income from licence fees paid by the IRFU and the FAI for matches held at the stadium. Additionally, revenue was generated from catering contracts and naming rights for the stadium, with Aviva extending its sponsorship deal until 2030. Despite a pre-tax loss of €891,000 for the six months ending in June, the stadium company's shareholder funds stood at €140.3 million. The accounts were signed off by the CEOs of the IRFU and the FAI in September.
