Revisiting the Past: Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger's Near Encounter at the 2026 Golden Globes

Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger, former flames, nearly had a close encounter at the 2026 Golden Globes, over a decade after their breakup. Both stars graced the red carpet at the 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Cyrus was a nominee in the "Best Original Song" category for her track "Dream as One" from Avatar: Fire and Ash, while Schwarzenegger attended as part of The White Lotus Season 3 cast, which garnered six nominations, including Best Television Series — Drama.

The pair dated from November 2014 to April 2015, with their relationship hitting a rough patch when Schwarzenegger was embroiled in a cheating scandal. Despite his denial of any wrongdoing, the scandal took a toll on their relationship, leading to their eventual split. A decade later, they crossed paths at the 2025 Met Gala, where Cyrus seemingly ignored Schwarzenegger. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patrick's father, praised Cyrus as a wonderful person during an interview, expressing regret that their relationship didn't work out.

While Arnold acknowledged his disappointment, he also shared his excitement for Patrick's engagement to Abby Champion in December 2023 after eight years together. Maria Shriver, Patrick's mother, made a rare comment about her son's relationship, revealing that she did not keep in touch with any of her kids' exes, including Cyrus. However, she expressed that she would be happy to see Cyrus again but clarified that they did not stay in touch.

The Golden Globes ceremony can be streamed on Paramount+, offering viewers a chance to catch up on the glitz and glamour of the star-studded event.
