Christmas Greeting Leads to Miami Bus Stabbing: Man Arrested for Aggravated Battery
A man in South Florida was arrested for allegedly stabbing another passenger on a Miami bus after being wished a "Merry Christmas." Reynaldo Ortega, 73, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and has pleaded not guilty. The victim tried to shake Ortega's hand and wish him a Merry Christmas, but Ortega swatted it away and started arguing before pulling out a knife. The bus driver intervened, separating the two men, but the altercation escalated, leading to the stabbing. The incident was captured on the bus's closed-circuit camera. Ortega claimed he stabbed the victim because he felt the victim was being aggressive towards him. Ortega is currently in custody without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
