Heroic Good Samaritans Rescue Car from Cliff Near Lake Tahoe on Christmas
A recent incident near Lake Tahoe on Christmas was captured on dashcam video, showing the heroic actions of good Samaritans who came to the rescue of two individuals whose car was in danger of falling off a cliff. Yvett Bañares-Tala and Ruben Tala, a local staff sergeant, were on their way to Lake Tahoe for their annual holiday trip when they noticed a black vehicle sliding off the road. Ruben quickly sprang into action, anchoring himself to the car to communicate with the occupants. Other passersby also stopped to assist, with one person bringing a rope to stabilize the vehicle. With the help of the good Samaritans, the driver and passenger were safely extracted from the car.
Yvett immediately called 911 upon stopping to help, and first responders arrived on the scene approximately 15 to 20 minutes later. The quick thinking and selfless actions of Ruben and the other individuals who stopped to help prevented a potentially tragic situation. The two people in the vehicle, along with their two small dogs, were rescued without any reported injuries. The collaborative efforts of these good Samaritans exemplify the importance of lending a helping hand in times of need, ultimately ensuring the safety and well-being of others.
