Traffic Advisory for Eyo Festival Celebrations in Lagos Island

The Lagos State Government has issued a travel advisory regarding traffic restrictions on Lagos Island in preparation for the Eyo Festival on Saturday, 27 December 2025. The advisory, titled “Travel Advisory – Eyo Festival,” was shared on the government's website and social media platforms. Vehicular movement on major streets on Lagos Island will be restricted to ensure the safe procession of the Eyo festival. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly as LASTMA officials will be present at diversion points to manage traffic flow.

The government announced temporary closures on major access corridors linking Lagos Island with the mainland. Routes affected include Third Mainland Bridge exit to Adeniji Adele Road, Sura Junction, Obalende axes, Onikan Junction, CMS Bridge axes, Apongbon axes, and Idumota axes. Alternative routes were provided for accessing and exiting Lagos Island to minimize disruptions during the festival.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu expressed his excitement for the upcoming Eyo Festival, highlighting its significance in showcasing Lagos' rich culture to the world. The festival is a cultural celebration that holds great importance in the history and tradition of Lagos.
