Sabrina Carpenter surprised her fans with a special Christmas Eve gift by releasing the Man’s Best Friend (Bonus Track Version) on streaming platforms. The album includes the track “Such a Funny Way,” which she had previously shared. Carpenter expressed her gratitude to her fans for their support throughout the year and mentioned that the bonus track edition is now available for streaming. She also released a lyric video for “Such a Funny Way” on YouTube.

The original Man’s Best Friend album was released on August 29, and it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in September. This marked Carpenter's second chart-topping album after Short n’ Sweet in 2024. “Such a Funny Way” was initially available for digital download as part of the album and later as an exclusive track on the vinyl deluxe edition.

During an interview on Apple Music 1 with Zane Lowe, Carpenter shared the inspiration behind “Such a Funny Way,” highlighting the theme of using humor to cope with difficult situations in relationships. She mentioned that humor can sometimes be a way to avoid addressing serious issues. The song concludes with the lyrics, “So funny that I have to laugh just so I don’t cry.”
