Florida Woman Arrested for Allegedly Killing Two Ex-Husbands in One Day
A 51-year-old woman in Florida has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing two ex-husbands on the same day. Susan Erica Avalon faces charges of second-degree homicide in Manatee County and is being investigated by authorities in Tampa. The incidents occurred on Wednesday, with the first ex-husband being shot in Manatee County and the second ex-husband in Tampa.
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting in the Heritage Harbor neighborhood where a 54-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds. Despite being alert initially, the man later succumbed to his injuries. The victim's daughter witnessed the incident and saw someone leaving the scene in a silver Honda Odyssey.
Authorities suspect that Avalon posed as a food delivery driver to gain access to the victim's home. Court records reveal that Avalon and the victim had been divorced for nearly a decade and were involved in child custody and support disputes. Investigators later found Avalon in Citrus County cleaning the vehicle believed to be used in the crimes.
Avalon's second ex-husband in Tampa was also found shot and killed in his home. The Tampa Police Department is assisting in the investigation, and authorities believe the incidents are connected. It is believed that Avalon targeted her second ex-husband in Tampa before traveling to Manatee County to kill her first ex-husband.
