A doctor in northwestern Ohio has been arrested for allegedly attempting to force abortion medication on a woman he impregnated. Hassan Abbas, a surgical resident at the University of Toledo Medical Center, faces multiple felony charges, including abduction and tampering with evidence. The woman, unaware of Abbas' marital status, was pressured by him to terminate the pregnancy due to cultural and religious reasons. Abbas allegedly tried to administer the abortion medication forcefully, leading to the woman suffering a miscarriage. The State Medical Board of Ohio has suspended Abbas' medical license, and he is currently on administrative leave from the hospital. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for January 30.
