FDA Extends Approval of Addyi for Women Over 65: Enhancing Female Libido Beyond Menopause

U.S. health officials have recently extended the approval of a controversial drug designed to enhance female libido, allowing women over the age of 65 to take the once-a-day pill. The Food and Drug Administration's announcement on Monday expanded the use of the drug, Addyi, to include older women who have completed menopause. Originally approved a decade ago for premenopausal women experiencing emotional distress from low sexual desire, the drug's approval has now been broadened to benefit older women as well.
