DoorDash Delivery Nightmare: Woman Arrested for Pepper-Spraying Customer's Food

A woman from Kentucky has been arrested for allegedly pepper-spraying a DoorDash customer's food, claiming she was aiming at a spider. Kourtney N. Stevenson was apprehended by the McCracken County Sheriff's Office after a doorbell camera captured her spraying something on a customer's order, causing the customers to fall ill. Stevenson is facing multiple felony charges, including battery resulting in moderate injury and consumer product tampering.
Sheriff Noah Robinson emphasized the importance of food safety and trust in the delivery service, stating that violators will face charges. The incident occurred in northern Vanderburgh County, Indiana, where a couple fell ill after receiving their DoorDash order. They experienced burning sensations in their mouths, noses, throats, and stomachs before vomiting, prompting an investigation.
The delivery driver, identified as Stevenson through DoorDash records, was seen on camera spraying a substance towards the food before leaving. Stevenson claimed she was spraying a spider she saw during the delivery, but investigators found her explanation questionable due to the low temperatures that night. She faces charges of battery and consumer product tampering and is currently held without bond pending extradition to Indiana.
DoorDash has terminated Stevenson's employment following the incident. The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office has not provided further comments on the matter.
