Major Blaine McGraw: Allegations of Abuse and Misconduct Unveiled in Recent Petition

A recent petition filed in the 146th Bell County District Court has revealed new evidence against Major Blaine McGraw, a suspended OBGYN previously assigned to Fort Hood. The Army has charged McGraw with multiple offenses, including the alleged indecent recording of 44 victims, leading to 81 additional alleged victims joining the civil lawsuit against him. The petition includes disturbing details and photographs showing how McGraw allegedly positioned his cellphone to record victims during examinations.
The lawsuit outlines three alleged patterns of abuse by McGraw, including nonconsensual recordings, unnecessary procedures, and inappropriate touching without a chaperone present. One victim, a 19-year-old Private, reported being subjected to a disturbing examination by McGraw without a chaperone, leading to further trauma. The petition also details an incident where McGraw allegedly induced labor without consent at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii, further highlighting the extent of the alleged misconduct.
Attorney Andrew Cobos emphasized the lack of chaperones during examinations as a recurring issue in the case, calling for the Army to address the power dynamics that put lower enlisted soldiers at risk. The alleged victims in the case have expressed feeling unsafe seeking medical care due to the alleged abuse, highlighting the impact of the alleged misconduct on their sense of security and well-being.
The 82 plaintiffs in the case are seeking over $82 million in damages, reflecting the severity of the allegations against McGraw. With 61 charges preferred against him, McGraw remains in pretrial confinement at the Bell County Jail as the legal proceedings continue. The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding patients' rights and ensuring accountability in cases of alleged misconduct within the medical profession.
