INIU BI-B41 Power Bank Recall: Fire Hazard and Property Damage Alert

A portable power bank sold on Amazon is being recalled due to fire hazards and property damage. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of the INIU BI-B41 Power Banks, which contain lithium-ion batteries. This voluntary recall was prompted by reports of 15 incidents of the power banks overheating, leading to 11 fires resulting in three minor burn injuries and over $380,000 in property damage.

The recalled power banks were sold on Amazon from August 2021 to April 2022 for approximately $18. They have a black or blue case with the INIU logo on the front and a serial number on the back. Around 210,000 units with specific serial numbers are part of the recall. Consumers are urged to stop using the power bank immediately and contact INIU for a full refund. It is important not to dispose of the power banks in the trash, as lithium-ion batteries require special disposal procedures due to their fire risk. Contact your local household hazardous waste collection center for proper disposal guidance.

If you own an INIU BI-B41 Power Bank, it is crucial to stop using it and register for a refund to ensure your safety and prevent any potential fire hazards. Dispose of the power bank properly to avoid any environmental risks associated with lithium-ion batteries. Stay informed about product recalls and safety alerts to protect yourself and your property.
