Former Palm Beach County Science Teacher Arrested for Alleged Sexual Misconduct with Student

A science teacher in Palm Beach County, Florida, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a student. Elias Gordon Farley, 26, a former teacher at Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton, was accused of using a shared Google Doc to communicate with the student before the incidents occurred.

The student reported the abuse on November 18, stating that the interactions began as casual conversations during the previous school year. Farley allegedly created a shared Google Doc where explicit messages were exchanged, describing sexual activity and planning private meetings.

The relationship turned physical in mid-September, with encounters taking place in Farley's office and a classroom. The student described engaging in sexual acts, including oral sex and intercourse, on campus. She also visited Farley's apartment multiple times in early November for further encounters.

A search warrant executed by detectives revealed evidence supporting the student's account, including bedding, condom wrappers, and furniture matching her description. Surveillance video from the school showed Farley and the student entering his office and a classroom together on specific dates.

The student confided in an art teacher on November 14, showing bruises and bite marks allegedly caused by Farley. School administrators were informed, and Farley was suspended immediately. He is currently held on $500,000 bond at the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center, facing charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and offense against a student by an authority figure.

Donna Klein Jewish Academy stated that they are cooperating with the investigation and emphasized the well-being of their students, faculty, and families. The school is providing support to those affected and ensuring a safe and educational environment. Farley is no longer employed at the school, and the investigation is ongoing.
