Traffic Update: M11 Southbound Closure Near Harlow - Diversion Route and Travel Advice

A multi-vehicle collision on the M11 near Harlow has led to the closure of the motorway southbound between J7 (Harlow) and J6 (M25). The incident involving two cars and a van occurred at 10.20am on Thursday. Emergency services are on the scene, and a diversion route is in place for drivers to avoid the collision area.

Drivers are advised to follow a solid circle diversion symbol, which directs them to exit the M11 southbound at J7 onto Hastingwood Interchange. From there, they should take the A414 London Road towards Harlow for 10.5 miles until reaching the A10 interchange. At the A10 interchange, drivers should take the first exit onto the A10 southbound towards Hoddesdon/Cheshunt/London and continue for seven miles until the M25 interchange. At the M25 interchange, drivers should take the first exit to join the M25 anti-clockwise and continue until J27, then take the second exit to re-join the M11 southbound at J6.

National Highways advises drivers to allow extra journey time if the closure affects their planned route and to consider re-routing or delaying their journey if necessary. For more information and updates, drivers can visit the National Highways website, use travel apps, or check the regional twitter feed.
