Remembering Mikey: Jackson Township Renames Street in Honor of Local Teen

Jackson Township will be renaming West Lake Court to Michael “Mikey” Gioia Way in memory of the local teenager who tragically passed away in a car accident. The renaming is a tribute to Michael Gioia, who was a beloved member of the community. His mother, Danielle Gioia, expressed gratitude for the gesture, stating that it ensures her son will always have a place in the town he called home.

A dedication ceremony is scheduled for December 17 at 3 p.m., with Township officials, including Mayor Jennifer Kuhn and Council President Mordechai Burnstein, expected to be in attendance. The event will also be attended by members of the Jackson Township Police Department, as well as friends, relatives, and residents who knew Mikey. The renaming of the street is meant to provide solace and create a lasting memorial for those who were touched by the 17-year-old's life.

The community is invited to join the Gioia family in honoring and remembering Mikey at the dedication ceremony. The renaming of West Lake Court to Michael “Mikey” Gioia Way serves as a heartfelt tribute to a young life lost too soon. It is a way for the community to come together and pay tribute to a cherished member of their town.
