Former EU High Representative Federica Mogherini Detained in Corruption Probe: EU Diplomatic Service Scandal Unveiled
Belgian police have detained Federica Mogherini, the former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and current rector of the College of Europe, as part of an investigation into alleged corruption within the European Union’s diplomatic service. The arrest was made in connection with fraud involving EU-funded construction tenders. Three individuals were arrested during searches conducted at the headquarters of the European External Action Service in Brussels, the College of Europe in Bruges, and several private residences.
