Mohanlal has completed filming for Drishyam 3, as confirmed by director Jeethu Joseph through a behind-the-scenes video shared on social media. The video showcases Mohanlal in his role as Georgekutty, surrounded by the film's crew, marking the end of the shoot. Director Jeethu Joseph shared the video on his Instagram, where fans eagerly await the release date announcement for the film.
While the release date for Drishyam 3 has not been revealed yet, director Jeethu Joseph mentioned that the film will be released first after two months. Panorama Studios has acquired the rights for Drishyam 3 from Aashirvad Cinemas, the Malayalam production house. Jeethu Joseph emphasized that his focus for Drishyam 3 is on the internal logic of the characters, particularly Georgekutty and his family, maintaining the organic approach seen in the previous films.
Addressing the high expectations from fans, Jeethu Joseph clarified that he is not aiming to outdo Drishyam 2 with Drishyam 3 but rather focusing on the growth and changes in the characters' lives over the years. The characters, including Georgekutty, Rani, Anju, and Anu, have evolved significantly, reflecting the passage of time and emotional nuances in the upcoming film.
The Drishyam franchise, known for its success in crime thrillers, has also seen a Bollywood adaptation starring Ajay Devgn. However, the announcement for Drishyam 3's release has faced delays due to a creative clause between the Hindi and Malayalam production teams. The official announcement for the Hindi version has been postponed as per the agreement between the original makers and the Hindi remake's producer, Kumar Mangat.
