Daylight Ambush Attack in D.C.: National Guard Member Killed, Shooter Arrested
A shocking video has surfaced showing a daylight ambush attack that resulted in the death of a National Guard member in Washington, D.C. The footage captured Rahmanullah Lakanwal allegedly brandishing a revolver as two Guardsmen sought cover. One Guardsman is seen returning fire after sprinting around a corner.
The incident occurred near the White House, where Lakanwal opened fire on two West Virginia National Guard members. The video briefly shows the fallen troops on the sidewalk. The shooter fired multiple rounds with a .357 revolver before being shot by one of the Guardsmen.
Specialist Sarah Beckstrom succumbed to her injuries, while Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe remains in critical condition. Lakanwal entered the U.S. under Operation Allies Welcome and now faces charges including first-degree murder.
Beckstrom and Wolfe are part of the West Virginia National Guard deployed to D.C. to address crime. Wolfe's family is requesting prayers for his recovery, as he fights for his life. West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey emphasized the seriousness of Wolfe's condition and the need for justice to be served.
