Georgia Election Interference Case: New Prosecutor Halts Legal Action Against Trump and Associates

The new prosecutor in charge of the Georgia election interference case against President Donald Trump and others has decided not to pursue the case further. Pete Skandalakis, the executive director of the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, took over the case from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who was removed due to a romantic relationship with the special prosecutor she selected to lead the case. Legal action against Trump was unlikely to proceed while he was president, but 14 other defendants, including Rudy Giuliani and Mark Meadows, still faced charges.
