Florida Man Arrested by FBI for Extremist Group Chats: Violent Propaganda, Explosive Instructions, and Disturbing Messages

A Florida man, Lucas Alexander Temple, was arrested by the FBI for his involvement in extremist group chats on the encrypted messaging app Signal. Temple is accused of sharing violent neo-Nazi propaganda, instructions for explosives, and disturbing graphic messages using aliases in these chats. He is facing federal charges related to the distribution of explosive information and possession of an unregistered short-barreled shotgun.

Temple shared a homemade detonator diagram, YouTube videos on making explosives, and a 122-page extremist manual with White supremacist content in the group chats. The discussions in these chats also included graphic content promoting rape, torture, murder, and violence against non-White children.

Screenshots of messages from Temple's aliases contained disturbing phrases and discussions about sexual assault. His true identity was revealed through personal details shared in the chats, which were verified with state records and security footage during the investigation.

During a search at Temple's residence, FBI agents discovered neo-Nazi propaganda, a book related to the Columbine High School shooters, and an illegally modified shotgun. The shotgun had its barrel sawed off, and a handwritten note outlining plans for a livestreamed operation with motion-activated bombs was also found.

Temple was found to be unregistered to possess the shotgun according to ATF records. The magistrate judge ordered Temple to remain detained pending trial, citing the serious danger he poses to others based on the evidence presented during his initial court appearance.
