Remembering Paul Costelloe: A Fashion Icon's Legacy

Renowned Irish fashion designer Paul Costelloe has passed away at the age of 80 after a successful career spanning over 40 years. Known for his classic and elegant tailoring, Costelloe founded his eponymous fashion label and collaborated with prestigious clients such as Princess Diana, Wedgwood, and British Airways. He also partnered with Dunnes Stores for two decades to create a range of menswear, womenswear, and homeware.

Born in Dublin in 1945 to a Limerick father and a New Yorker mother, Costelloe grew up surrounded by fabrics and materials due to his father's raincoat factory. After training at the Grafton Academy, he began his fashion career in Paris and Milan before establishing his own label in 1979. Throughout his career, Costelloe worked closely with Princess Diana as her personal designer and showcased his collections at London Fashion Week.

Costelloe and his wife Anne, with whom he had seven children, split their time between London and Dublin. Despite his passing after a brief illness, Costelloe's legacy lives on through his timeless designs and contributions to the fashion industry. His family announced his peaceful passing in London, surrounded by loved ones.
