New Missionary Age Requirement for Women Announced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has made a significant change to the age requirement for women wanting to serve full-time missions. The Church's First Presidency, consisting of President Dallin H. Oaks, President Henry B. Eyring, and President D. Todd Christofferson, announced that young women can now begin their missions at the age of 18, immediately after graduating from high school or its equivalent. This adjustment allows women to serve a year earlier than the previous minimum age of 19.
