Terrorism Ties: The Case of Akhror Bozorov, the Illegal Immigrant Truck Driver Arrested for Alleged Terrorist Links

A criminal illegal immigrant, Akhror Bozorov, who was released into the U.S. under the Biden administration, has been arrested for alleged ties to terrorism. Bozorov, originally from Uzbekistan, was accused of belonging to a terrorist organization and distributing propaganda calling for jihad online. He was apprehended by ICE while working as a commercial truck driver in Kansas.
Bozorov obtained a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in Pennsylvania and was authorized to work in January 2024 under the Biden administration. The Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin criticized the administration for allowing a wanted terrorist like Bozorov to enter the country and operate an 18-wheeler on American highways.
Bozorov illegally entered the U.S. in February 2023 and was initially arrested by Border Patrol. However, the Biden administration released him into American communities. This incident has raised concerns about the issuance of CDLs to immigrants, especially after an illegal immigrant truck driver caused a fatal crash in Florida.
The Trump administration has been focusing on states that issue CDLs to immigrants, but a federal appeals court ruled against the Department of Transportation's attempt to restrict immigrants from obtaining commercial driver's licenses. The case of Bozorov highlights the challenges and risks associated with allowing individuals with ties to terrorism to work in sensitive positions like commercial truck driving.
