The Voice: Battle of Champions" Season 29 Premieres with Kelly Clarkson's Return

Kelly Clarkson's return to "The Voice" has been highly anticipated by fans, and they won't have to wait much longer to see her back on the show. NBC announced a special format change for season 29, titled "The Voice: Battle of Champions," which will feature Clarkson and two other past coaches. This marks a significant revamp of the show's format and pays tribute to the powerhouse coaches who are all Voice winners. Clarkson left the show after season 23 but will make her comeback in the upcoming season.

Clarkson will return to "The Voice" when season 29 premieres on NBC on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET. The show will air at 9 p.m. on Mondays throughout the season, with the premiere being two hours long. The season will feature a "Battle of the Champions" theme, coinciding with NBC Sports' "Legendary February," which includes major sports events like the Super Bowl LX and the NBA All-Star Game.

The upcoming season will have four rounds, including blind auditions, battles, knockouts, and semi-finals/finale. Coaches will start with 10 artists per team, and each round will introduce a unique twist to the competition. Clarkson will be joined by Adam Levine and John Legend in the red chairs for "Battle of the Champions," with CeeLo Green also making an appearance to help the coaches choose the artists who will move on from the Knockouts.

Clarkson's decision to leave "The Voice" in 2023 was influenced by her personal struggles and the desire for a fresh start in New York City following her divorce. She expressed her love for the show but felt that she needed to prioritize her well-being. Now, fans can look forward to seeing her back on the show and competing alongside other champion coaches in the upcoming season.
