Actress Cynthia Erivo's Heroic Actions at Wicked Premiere in Singapore: Protecting Ariana Grande from Intruder

A recent incident at the premiere of Wicked: For Good in Singapore showcased Cynthia Erivo's heroic actions as she protected her co-star Ariana Grande from a spectator who rushed towards them on the yellow carpet. The man, identified as Johnson Wen, attempted to approach Grande, Erivo, and Michelle Yeoh, causing concern among the actresses. Erivo quickly intervened, pushing the man away from Grande, while Yeoh assisted in moving Grande to safety. The man was subsequently arrested for his actions.

Wen, known as "Pyjama Man" online, shared videos of the incident on social media, including one where he thanked Grande for allowing him to be on the yellow carpet with her. Despite his posts expressing excitement about meeting Grande, fans criticized his behavior, calling it disrespectful and dangerous. Grande, who has been open about her anxiety and PTSD following the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017, faced additional stress due to the incident.

The press tour for Wicked: For Good, which began in London and will continue to São Paulo, Brazil, Paris, and New York, culminates in the film's release on Nov. 21. Erivo's quick actions to protect Grande highlight the bond between the cast members and the importance of security measures at public events.
