Bangladeshi Workers Demand Justice: Unpaid Wages and Exploitation in Malaysia

Around 100 Bangladeshi workers gathered for a protest in Dhaka on Monday to demand unpaid wages and fair treatment from Malaysian companies. The rally, organized by the Migrant Welfare Network, aimed to shed light on the alleged abuse and exploitation of migrant workers in Malaysia. The demonstrators highlighted issues of mistreatment and called for justice and proper compensation for Bangladeshi workers who have been affected.
During the protest, the workers raised concerns about the mistreatment they have faced and called on authorities and international partners to address the situation. They accused companies like Mediceram and Kawaguchi Manufacturing of failing to pay wages and engaging in unfair labor practices. The workers emphasized the need for accountability and urged for action to be taken against these companies.
Migrant workers from countries such as Bangladesh, Nepal, and Myanmar play a significant role in various industries in Malaysia, including manufacturing, plantations, and construction. However, reports suggest that these workers often endure poor working conditions and receive low wages. This has led to calls for stronger protections and better enforcement of labor laws to safeguard the rights and well-being of migrant workers in Malaysia.
