2026 Grammy Awards Nominations: Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar Lead the Pack

The 2026 Grammy Awards nominations have been announced, with Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar leading the pack. Lamar received nine nominations, including album of the year for GNX, while Gaga earned seven nods for her record Mayhem. K-Pop also made history with two songs nominated for song of the year: Rosé and Bruno Mars’ APT, and Hunter/x’s Golden from the film K-Pop Demon Hunters.
Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar, both with five previous album of the year nominations, are hoping to secure their first win in the category. Lamar’s GNX could be the first rap album to win since Outkast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below in 2004. Other contenders include Tyler, The Creator’s Chromakopia and Clipse’s Let God Sort Em Out, marking the first time three rap albums are up for album of the year.
Puerto Rican star Bad Bunny is also in the running with Debí Tirar Más Fotos, blending live instrumentation with reggaeton beats. British artists Olivia Dean and Lola Young received their first Grammy nominations for best new artist, competing against Addison Rae and Katseye. The nominees were announced in a live stream featuring past winners and music industry professionals.
Taylor Swift, who missed the eligibility window with her album The Life of a Showgirl, will have to wait until 2027 for a potential eighth album of the year nomination. Over 23,000 entries were submitted for the 2026 Grammys, with song of the year having the most entries and best compilation soundtrack for visual media the least. Voting members will determine the final nominees, with winners revealed at the ceremony on 1 February 2026.
