Taylor Swift Breaks Record on Billboard Hot 100 Songwriters Chart with 27 Weeks at No. 1

Taylor Swift has broken another record on the Billboard Hot 100 Songwriters chart, spending the most weeks at No. 1. With 27 total weeks at the top spot, she surpasses Johnny Marks. Swift shares the No. 1 position with Max Martin and Shellback, thanks to their collaboration on all 12 tracks of Swift's latest album, The Life of a Showgirl. This achievement marks Swift's fourth week at No. 1 on the chart.
Swift first claimed the top spot on the Hot 100 Songwriters chart in August 2019 and has maintained her position every year since then. Johnny Marks, known for holiday classics like "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," also consistently leads the chart each December due to the resurgence of his songs during the holiday season.
The Hot 100 Songwriters chart ranks songwriters based on the points earned for each song that appears on the Hot 100. Swift, Max Martin, and Shellback split the points equally for their collaborative efforts on The Life of a Showgirl, leading to their tie at No. 1 this week. Additionally, the trio also shares the top spot on the Hot 100 Producers chart for their coproduction credits on all 12 tracks of the album.
