Dame Helen Mirren to Receive 2026 Cecil B. DeMille Award in 'Golden Eve' Primetime Special

The Golden Globes has announced that Dame Helen Mirren, a renowned actress and three-time Golden Globe winner, will be honored with the 2026 Cecil B. DeMille Award. This prestigious award will be presented during a new annual primetime special called “Golden Eve” on January 8, 2026, instead of during the Golden Globe Awards telecast as done in the past. The special will air on the CBS Television Network and stream on Paramount+.
Helen Mirren's remarkable career and exceptional performances have earned her numerous accolades, including 16 Golden Globes nominations. Her first Golden Globe win was for her role in the TV movie “Losing Chase,” followed by wins for portraying the Queen of England in the miniseries “Elizabeth I” and the film “The Queen.” Mirren's contributions to stage, film, and television led to her being appointed a Dame of the British Empire in 2003.
The “Golden Eve” special will provide viewers with an intimate look at the honorees' legacies, personal stories, and memorable Golden Globes moments. It will feature career retrospectives, exclusive footage, and in-depth conversations with the honorees. This special event is part of the Golden Week experience on Paramount platforms, leading up to the 83rd Annual Golden Globes ceremony on January 11, 2026, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser.
Notable past recipients of the Cecil B. DeMille Award include Walt Disney, Audrey Hepburn, Sidney Poitier, Judy Garland, Elizabeth Taylor, Robert Redford, Barbra Streisand, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Oprah Winfrey, and Viola Davis.
