Nintendo's popular gaming console, the Nintendo Switch, secured the second spot in hardware sales in Japan according to recent retail data. The latest figures from Famitsu revealed that the Nintendo Switch sold 25,109 units, making it the third best-selling hardware between October 20 and October 26. The breakdown of sales included 16,545 units of the Nintendo Switch OLED Model, 1,925 units of the Nintendo Switch, and 6,639 units of the Nintendo Switch Lite during this period.

In the first quarter of the fiscal year, Nintendo reported a significant increase in revenue, reaching $3.8 billion, marking a 132 percent rise from the previous year. The operating profit also saw a four percent increase, totaling $378 million. However, the sales of the Nintendo Switch declined by 53.5 percent compared to the same period last year, with 980,000 units sold.

Since its launch, the Nintendo Switch has achieved remarkable success, selling a total of 153.1 million hardware units and 1.41 billion software units. Looking ahead, Nintendo has set a forecast of selling 15 million Nintendo Switch 2 units and 45 million Nintendo Switch 2 software units in fiscal year 2026.
