A recent episode of Hulu's IMPACT x Nightline features Gabby Mooney, a country singer and the sister of Shay Mooney from Dan + Shay, as she shares her harrowing near-death experience from February 2023. Mooney recounts how she flatlined at the hospital and had a profound encounter with Jesus before being revived. The ordeal began on Valentine's Day when she experienced a severe headache while driving home to Arkansas. Despite hoping for relief with rest, her condition worsened, leading her mother to rush her to the hospital. Due to unsafe weather conditions, a private ambulance was called to transport her, and she recalls having multiple seizures during the journey. Upon arrival at the hospital, her health deteriorated rapidly, resulting in her flatlining and briefly dying. Despite the terrifying experience, Mooney vividly remembers feeling a sense of peace and communication with a higher power during that time. She underwent emergency brain surgery following the incident, which left her with some facial paralysis and insecurities in the following months.
